The ST4 cutter is primarily intended for dividing mining steel braces without excessive deformation of the divided parts. Profiles can be cut up to weight classes 21 to 36.
It is necessary to choose a cutting mechanism with a knife of the right cross-section for each profile that is being cut. The cutting mechanism is changed through the opening in the frame and is held on two pins and four bolts. If necessary, it is also possible to divide profiles other than mining braces, for example, ordinary rolled profiles, round wood, etc., but special knives must be used for that.
The design of the cutter ST 4 complies with the requirements set for the equipment of Class I, Category M2, for the use in the underground parts of mines with a likelihood of danger from methane or combustible dust, according to ČSN EN 13463–1.
The overall arrangement of ST-4 is shown on the appended figure. The frame flange is used to attach the hydraulic cylinder, to which the ram of the cutting mechanism is attached using two pins. The profile you need to cut is inserted through a side opening in the frame, extending the ram results in the profile being clamped between the blades and severed in two parts.
The profile cutter is intended for deformity-free cutting of rods of various profiles, primarily type K, P, TH and V mining brace parts at any workplace (even mining) where such resources are available. When cutting rods of various profile, it is always necessary to use the cutting tool set of the proper shape.
The profile cutter is of a simple design, easy to operate and low-maintenance. It consist of a solid welded frame, a cutting mechanism, an arm, a pair of linear hydro-motors and a hydraulic manifold. The frame is fitted with handles and openings for safe handling when moving the cutter to the workplace.
